One of the world’s most renowned and finest quality watchmakers, Oris, has recently teamed up with the Royal Flying Doctor Service for a new limited edition watch named as the Oris Royal Flying Doctor Service Limited Edition II.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service is one of the world’s most iconic aeromedical doctor services which offer primary health care and emergency services to people living in rural Australia. This service operates a fleet of 60 and more aircraft.
In doctor’s watches, one of the most common feature you will look for is the pulsation dial that allows you to accurately track the pulse rate or the heart beat rate. This new second version of the Royal Flying Doctor Service limited edition watch comes features an upgraded pulsometer with a scaling of 20 heartbeats for accurate and faster readings.
The watch has got a bi-directional rotational bezel indicating that the pulsation measurements can start anytime. When observed the watch-dial closely and carefully, the contrasting deep orange strip is the pulsometer scale. The bi-directional rotational bezel here can be used as a second time zone or a timer catering to three different time zones itself within Africa.
Other distinct features of the dial include the matte black premium background finish overlayed with distinct white numerals and large pilot hands. A double window at the 3’o clock position shows the day and date feature.
The back of the dial features a beautifully engraved casing with the Oris logo underneath which lies an automatic Oric Calibre for precise movements. The Oris Royal Flying Doctor Service Limited Edition II will be available in limited quantity of 2000 pieces.
The variant of a leather strap with pin buckle will be available at a price of CHF 1,900 while the stainless steel variant and the one with crocodile leather strap and a folding clasp will be available for CHF 2,100.
